Moda's Be My Neighbor - Row 1

I spent the weekend working on the Be My Neighbor project.  It really goes together quickly.  I think picking thru the fabric choices is the time-eater here.  You can find the free project  HERE .

Here are the first four blocks .............  I know, I fudged block 3 with the tree, I 'WILL'  be replacing that faux pas with a correction.

I'm happy to link up with Connie at Freemotion By The River today.

On Wednesday, I'll be sharing with Susan  of Quilt Fabrication and Lorna of Sew Fresh Quilts.

Be sure to visit all these sites to see what other creative quilters are sharing today!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

RSC17 - January purples

My purple fabric collection is quite sparse,  In addition to the Over 60's block which I shared earlier in the month, I did make up a few scrappy blocks for my ongoing projects;  one is the churn dash and the other is a new addition inspired by the quilt pattern "Hidden Gems".

Friday afternoon I stitched up the purple crayon.  Only 4 RSC projects going this year,....so far.

Meanwhile,  I'm linking up with Angela of Soscrappy and on Sunday I'll join Cynthia for Oh Scrap . Be sure to visit these sites  to see what other creative quilters are making with their purple pieces.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Two Hearts in the Storm

I took part in a storm at sea challenge for the New Year.  I have been working hard at it, all the parts were rotary cut last December.   The past 3 days have been seriously putting it together.  I have the top done now ........... 76 x 95.   Yay!   I know just how I want to quilt it,  I hope little gremlins make the backing and pin baste it for me during the night.

I'm linking up with Susan of Quilt Fabrication  and  Lorna of Sew Fresh Quilts and Esther's Blog.  Visit these sites to see what other quilters are sharing today.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

P.S. February 1st, updating this post to submit as my one monthly goal to  Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal February Linkup.   I want this top finished with quilting, binding and a label!

CCQ #37 - Strippy KISS

I have been keeping busy every day working on new parts for old quilt projects and new projects too.  Today I can share a finish, a UFO actually as I cut all the parts to it last month.

This quilt is made from the pattern K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simply Strips).  You will find the free pattern at
http://sewpreetiquilts.blogspot.com/2016/02/craftsy-sweetens-up-my-life-blog-hop.html.  I've shared this link before.

You just can't make enough of these; perfect size for child, 40 x 52.  The pattern is so simple and the design allows for any type of quilting finish.  For quilting, I started a rectangle in the center and stitched around it until covered.  I'll donate this quilt to our quilds child comfort quilt program.

Here is the back, a nice fleece print using lots of the colors in the top.  I also used a poly batt in between, making the quilt bulky and warm.

So I'll be sharing my finish with my two favorite yahoo groups, Cyberquilters and Stashbusters.

I'll also be linking up with Connie at Freemotion By The River today.  On Wednesday, I'll get to link up with Susan at Quilt Fabrication and Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts.

The icing on the cake  --  this is the finish for my OMG (one monthly goal) for January.  At the end of the month I'll be able to link up with Patty of  Elm Street Quilts for OMG Challenge finish.  You will find my original post for the January challenge  HERE.

Indian Trails - RSC16 con't

I have been sharing parts of this quilt during the RSC16 . I called it a modified indian hatchet.  It now has an official name, Indian Trails.  During a quilting time, I spread it out to count how many black and white squares it had, as I am FMQ in that area which is alot of stop and start. You know when you get something in your head, it sometimes just wont go away.

So DD (dear dog) Kody wasted no time claiming his spot.  Normally I don't let him on my fabric or quilts.

This is the top, before border fabric.  I have some piecing to do this week then I am anxious to get back to quilting on this one.  It is so colorful, it makes me smile.

Today I'm linking up with Connie  at  Freemotion By The River.              and

Wednesday, linking up with  Susan at Quilt Fabrication  and  Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts.

Be sure to visit these sites to see what other quilters are sharing today.

THanks so much for stopping by.

OMG - a KISS quilt

I took a few days to consider what my OMG (one monthly goal) would be.  There were so many choices!  I decided to finish a KISS quilt,  free pattern  HERE   (scroll down to the quilt instructions).  Actually, I have to start it too,  It was cut from stash last week.  I cut up 4 kits for this handy pattern.  I will make some and donate some kits to quilt club  for our child comfort quilts mission.

I'm joining the January link-up with Elm Street Quilts for the OMG challenge.  You can also take part by joining  HERE and you can always find your way there by clicking the icon in my left sidebar.

and for more party fun, I'm linking up with Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts  and Susan at Quilt Fabrication.   Be sure to visit all these sites to see what other creative quilters are working on today.
